NEXT STEPS VISIT.

Members of the Next Steps project from Malton visited the Participaction site on Fri 20 th Aug. The visitors enjoyed a guided tour around the site, and socialising with Participaction members over a barbecue lunch. It is hoped a return visit to next steps in Malton can be organised for the winter months.

WEEDING CONTINUES.

Recent heavy rain and warm temps have caused a late season growth spurt for weeds. Participaction members have been kept very busy weeding the site.

WATER PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION.

The project to collect water from the drainage area at Stainsacre is now all but complete. Under the supervision of Tony Murphy project members have set up large water Troughs to collect drainage water in the woodland at the bottom of the participaction site at Stainsacre. The water is then pumped (generator powered) to the water butts on site. The next stage of the project will be to place guttering on all participaction buildings to further direct rain water into the butts.

This picture Shows the water trough at the bottom left of the Participaction Site where water draining off the gardens above is collected to be pumped back up to the water butts within the garden area. A second collecting trough will soon be purchased and connected into the system.
